Beauty passes me

In the form of a tight butt

A twinkling eye

A smile

My heart beats faster

And lips form the words

To call toward me

But my mind rebels.

Indifference is the curse of the ageing

No longer seen as a sexual being

Name changed to “her mom”

“His grandma.”

No longer vibrant

Glowing

Or flushed with youth and promise

Mistakes and cares worn like a shroud

Tugging at skin

Causing ripples

On flesh

On bones

On confidence

Invisible to the masses

Seeking an eye that sees

Any eye
